Dr. Martin and Marie Dicke serve the Lord through The Lutheran Church—Missouri Synod (LCMS) as career missionaries in Papua New Guinea. In this role, Martin teaches worship and music at Timothy
Lutheran Seminary, Birip. Along with pastors and musicians of the Gutnius Lutheran Church, he works to update and develop additional worship resources for the church in the languages of the valley.
He also leads workshops to help train musicians and worship leaders in various aspects of worship and music and partners with musicians of local churches in whatever ways he can. As time allows, he
works with local Lutheran schools and their teachers to bring more music into their curriculums.
Martin was born and grew up on the mission field in the Enga Province of Papua New Guinea. He is a member of Trinity Lutheran Church, Peoria, Ill., where he served as Cantor from 2002-2016. He
received a bachelor’s degree in music from Concordia University, St. Paul (Minn.), a Master of Music degree in choral conducting from the University of Minnesota, Minneapolis, and a Doctor of Musical
Arts degree in choral conducting from the University of Iowa, Iowa City. Over the years, Martin has served as a choir director, organist, music director and cantor at churches and schools in
Minnesota, Iowa and Illinois. He has been in church work his entire career as a musician. Martin’s hobbies include stamp collecting, editing/composing/arranging music and blogging on sacred music

Marie’s hometown is Bertha, Minn., and she is also a member of Trinity Lutheran Church,Peoria. She received a bachelor’s degree in vocal music from Bemidji State University, Bemidji,Minn. Besides
raising her four children, Marie has worked as a choir director, a preschooldirector and taught piano and early childhood music classes. In her free time, Marie enjoyscooking, gardening and quilting
for Lutheran World Relief.
